Description |
Liana, 10 m high, at least 30 m long, diameter 5 cm. Leaves leathery, glossy, upper side darkish green, lower side medium green. Glands at apex of petiole dark green. Stem more or less triangular to square with 3-4 ridges, dark green. Cross section: outside green, very centre pink, with 5 phloem segments resembling a 5-petal flower. Parts of trunk that hit the ground are rooting. Fruits ovoid, rounded triangular from above, 25 x 19 mm, darkish green, often glaucous. Seeds black with dark green pits with a yellow pit margin, giving water drop impressions, surrounded by a nice flavoured pulp. |
