| Description | Shrub, 4 m high. DBH of largest trunks 3½ cm. Leaves leathery, upper side somewhat glossy, dark green, lower side glossy, medium green with purple-red primary and secondary nerves. Leaf blade up to 59 x 27 cm. Stipules green-brown. Inflorescences up to 4 m long, pending, where they reach the ground they branch and the parial inflorescences turn upright. Peduncle red. Pedicel white. Calyx in ovary part dark red, upper part and lobes pale red. Corolla in bud red, in open flowers outside pink-red, lobes inside yellow. Anthers creamy white. Fruits blood-red, ovoid, up to 14 x 9 mm. |
