Description | Liane on 15 m tall broken treetrunk, main stem grey-brown, distantly fissured, branchlets maroon brown, twigs pale green, pedicels similar, armed with maroon black blunt prickles, topped by deflexed ((? urticant) hairs, leaves thinly leathery, smooth, shiny bright green above, glossy pale green below, with prom. purple nerves, these armed in the lower half with similar structures as the petiole, inflorescence smooth pale green, perianth similar, lobes inbud crowned by an urticant hair each, exploding at anthesis to produce a fine smoke-like cloud of pollen issuing from the pure white anthers. |
