Epiphytic shrub. Most branches pending, up to 1 m long. Leaves succulent-leathery, upper side almost dull, dark green (in young leaves light green) with a dark red primary nerve, lower side slightly glossy, greyish green with a medium to darkish red primary nerve. Petioles dark red. Pedicel medium red. Bracts very pale green, sometimes with a red apex. Female flower: ovary pale brownish green with pale green to red ribs. Sepals (2) white, adaxial one with a pale pinkish base. Petals (2) white. Styles palish yellow, stigmatic bands spiraled with 2 loops, deep yellow. Male flower: Pedicel white. Sepals (2) white, pinkish white at the very base, with a few red spots at the apical margin. Petals white. Filaments pale yellow, pinkish red at base, anthers deep yellow. Fruits obovoid, up to 39 x 12 mm, brownish green with pale green to red ribs, with tiny greenish white warts. |
